Nick secretly conspired with his aunt Julie (who works at Hannoush Jewelers) to have a bespoke engagement ring created for Jessamyn. The gold ring itself dates from the Art Nouveau period and was originally set with a broken moonstone. Julie replaced the moonstone with a brilliant, sparkling natural diamond. The ring was finished one day before Nick and Jess set out for a cruise in Acadia National Park, where Nick proposed.
